Location Highlights

Avalon Estates, a development of extraordinary custom built homes beautifully situated on private, woodland lots, is tucked away off Rawson Road in the Arnold Mills area of Cumberland. Its pillared entrance welcomes you to curved, treed-lined streets of beauty, peacefulness, and privacy.  Twelve Kings Row is at the end of the street on a cul de sac . When you are home, you are away from it all, yet all so close to where you need to travel.

The convenience of the location is that it provides an easy commute North to Boston or South to Providence by way of the interstate highway system of routes 295, 146 and 95.  Driving time is only 50 minutes to Boston, and 17 minutes to Providence. For use of the commuter rail system, the South Attleboro train stop is only 10 minutes away with ample parking.

The town of Cumberland is a beautiful rural community offering a relaxed atmosphere and the comfort of small town living.   Within walking distance, just past the historic Rawson Bridge, is the Metcalf-Franklin Farm on Abbott Run Valley Road. One of the last working dairy farms in Cumberland, it now serves as a community garden. Volunteers tend and harvest the vegetables for the RI Food Bank and other local food pantries.

To meet your needs, there are plenty of shops nearby in Cumberland, and the Attleboros.  Some of the very local favorites are Phantom Farms, Diamond Hill Vineyard, Diamond Hill State Park, and The Ice Cream Machine – home of the best local homemade ice cream.

For summer family recreation, there is a nearby wonderful, member owned private swim and tennis club called Abbott Run Valley Club or a public Sher le Mon Swim Club in Cumberland Hill. Golf enthusiasts can enjoy Kirkbrae Country Club, Lincoln Country Club, or Heather Hills Country Club in Plainville, Mass or New England Country Club in Bellingham, Mass.

During the summer months, the Arnold Mills Fourth of July Parade/Road Race, with origins from 1927, is a traditional historic event enjoyed by local residents. And then, Cumberlandfest is a wonderful August festival held at Diamond Hill State Park.

The Cumberland library and surrounding monastery grounds and trails offer a wonderful place to visit. There also are recreational fields and hiking trails at Diamond Hill State Park as well as great biking and jogging routes along the Reservoir and The Blackstone Bike Path with breathtaking rural vistas.

For shopping convenience are large shopping malls within 10 minutes in neighboring towns (Lincoln, N. Attleboro).

A very caring network of pharmacists and veterinarians as well as a capable auto service station, all of which contribute to a quality of life here in Cumberland!
